About The Project
Survivor is a music video produced by Velorean Productions for artist McKenna Michels. Hired by producer Green Glow Films and working under the direction of Nick Peterson, our Velorean team used a 2D traditional animation that leans heavily on a mix of Western influence with Japanese anime for the look of the characters. The fight scenes and VFX hand-drawn in the scenes are also reminiscent of anime style fight scenes.
The idea behind the art direction of the film was to keep the animation raw and unfinished, to keep everything in the world of the sketchbook drawn by our lead protagonist. Below you can see some of the visual development behind the look of the characters and animation.
